Default Do what you like the best!

Do what you like, it is your car! With so many comments from boths sides, I think you will do well to go either way. When I first got my Jalpa I wanted to keep it as original as possible. Now I don't see the point. I don't think the value will change based on the paint you choose. People seem to like or hate both ideas. In my opinion both would be cool, but it is what you think that matters most.

well to me the car isnt exacly original, i think you said it has 500hp and normaly they have 255hp? so im guessing it stands out from other japla's especially in performence so why not make it even more unique with Giallo Midas paint. i think it would look amazing

I have gone through the same considerations with my white Jalpa, which (sometime in the near future) needs a re-paint as well.

There are some pearl whites (on Audi, Toyota, etc.) that look really good (very clean white), but since it is not a brand new car, I really prefer ease of (paint) maintenance. Also the particular shade of the original white on the Jalpa looks really good in the sun, so I prefer “just” duplicating the original paint and hopefully with one of better quality (no micro-cracks especially on the deck-lid).

With that in mind I voted original yellow.
Hmm, if I am not the one to do the maintenance, maybe Giallo Midas would be better.

There are quite a few US Jalpa's with pearl white colour, so why not.

I have not had it painted yet but it will be painted that is for sure!! I bought it with the intention of repainting it. I just want to make sure that it is done right this time.

Who are you thinking of having paint it? In the Chicago area I assume? My car is not ready for paint yet, but I have plans and am gathering info ... :-)

I'm for original yellow, but I agree paint it as you want - its your car!! Both colors will look great - what's not to like in a yellow Lambo?

Best regards,

Bryan

I have a couple friends in the business. I just need to pick one of the two. They are both in Chicago. I will do all the prep work and just have them spray it. I want to be the one to blame if it is messed up.

Thanks!! Let us know how it goes!! That would be ambitious for me, but seeing the results of past poor prep work on my car, it makes a lot of sense. I might contact you offline when I get closer :-)

When it has begun. I think I will start a new thread that is a log of the whole process. I am going to disassemble everything. I hope that it will be ready for paint in June sometime. As stated I want to make sure it is done right. I also bought a sandblasting cabinet and have already cleaned up and repainted some of the underbody pieces. So stay tuned to the process it is bound to be entertaining.
