I recently bought a -71 Espada in fairly good condition. My mechanic tells me though that he recommend to replace the spark plugs to the original type(the current ones are not). However he says that the original platinum sparks are almost 90 dollars EACH! I have searced the internet for recommended sparks at for example Racepages.com and the typ they recommend are only about 9 dollars each. What makes the original type so much better and is it worth the difference. Since I need 12 of them its quite a big difference priceways. Thank you for answers

Don't use platinum plugs, it's a money loss, platinum plugs are made for 50t km but on the carbed car you will change much earlier (15-20t km = 10k miles latest).

The most important is that are not fouled and heat range is correct. Since we change them quite often it makes no sense to spend big money on plugs which were designed for long lifetime.

That's true.
For archives; What is correct plugs heat range for 4l, 4.8l and 5.2l Lamborghini engines? I have read that they use to make in usa plutonium "core" plugs just because sounded good at the time, as I see platinum plugs is just new cool thing. OT: What would realy be a new thing is to successfully combine fuelinjector and spark plug in same unit...

QV has different Plugs, Bike style Champion A59G, the Diablo A59GC. I'm using these as well, they cost around $10.
The former S had a larger diameter, the manual says Bosch 235 P21 or 250 P21 (for high performance). I suppose the P250 are hotter and should only be used if you have 98-100 octane fuel, otherwise the engine could knock? Also the Urraco P300 and old 4l engines used Bosch P235 P21.
