Default LM002 "New Tires"

I finally got my Super Swamper STS 33x12.50R tires installed today. First, they are not as wide as the stock tires.

STS tires = just under 13" wide
Stock tire= just under 14" wide (tread), with sand lip just under 15" wide.

they are the same height.

STS tires are a little more noisy than the stock tires but not much. They LM felt more nimble and lighter with the STS tires.

I'm not sure what the weight difference is, but it is HUGE!!!! My LM feels quick, the loss of weight made the biggest difference and I'm very happy.

Other than the lack of width of the STS tires I'm VERY pleased. I only got to drive the truck for a little while so I will give an update soon.

P.S. very first pic of side by side, STS on right is NOT on a rim and Stock tire IS on a rim!
Ryan

Tires look great. Where did you get them and how much?

Look forward to hear your full report on handling.

Philip

Tires look great.

And with the snow you guys got hit with this week, I bet they came in handy.

Thanks 4 the comments!! It just got insurance on my Jalpa today so I have been driving that around. Weather is supposed to be bad this weekend (rain) so I don't know how much driving I will be doing on the new tires.

It did snow on the Pass from Kelowna to Van but we did not get any in town...that would be funny if we did tho!

I picked up the stock tires (unmounted) and weighted them.....80 pounds!!!!!

The new STS tires weight (unmounted) 66 pounds. difference of 14 pounds per tire. There are probably some tires that weight less.
