Yeah...now that the cold greys short days of winter are coming back in Europe, we will do without the Californian Murcielago Raodsters riding in the sunset between the palm trees

Default Countach prices on the move

Hi Craig,

What a small world!!! Love your car (and v jealous that you have an LP400 as well).

To answer your question re the tiff artical - sort of!! A fellow LCUK member was kind enough to photo copy it for me. As you can imagine I was rather excited to find out that my car is "famous"!!
What I am trying to do, is obtain an actual copy of the mag. Do you have one? I could even order from the publisher if I knew which issue number it was?

Many thanks

Ian

Thanks for the kind words

Your car was in a supplement to What Car? called 'High Performance' dated Spring 1986. I found my copy on e Bay.

Do you also have the Classic & Sportscar article where C701 was up against a TVR 450SE?

I remember seeing your car a number of years back when I also had a QV at Goodwood. It looked brand new at the time - I think it must have had a restoration as the white leather was really WHITE and the car was mint.

My LP400 is in this month's Classic & Sportscar if you're interested.

Craig

Ian

I have just noticed your posting - and perhaps more importantly your number plate! Do you the history of your car? (I get the feeling that you don't?) No need to worry it is 100% good! She is one of the BEST Countach's around (and I don't just mean in the UK!!)
You do realise that your car is one of the most photographed and therefore one could say admired Countach's IN THE WORLD! Do you know that the Kuwait Embassy purchased this vehicle from new, and they released it for many many film and photo shoots.
When did you acquire this car? I didn't even know that she had come up for sale. I know of at least 4 of my clients have been waiting for some time to get their hands on this car!
I had the pleasure of being on a photo shoot with your car only a few years back, she looked and drove like she had just been built. Is she still in the same condition?

Ian: can you PM me please

Thanks all

Lamborghiniman

Default Countach Prices

Hi Lamboman

I'm rather speechless! Yes I knew my car had been in a few books and Mags which I am trying very hard to track down.
But no - I had no idea that the Kuwait'y Embassy owned the car!

I bought the car back in May and have enjoyed every single mile!!
We were advised that she was for sale by our friends (and fellow CT owners) in LCUK.
I basically went along, viewed her..... bought her!

I really am very appreciative for any history offered on my car.

Best Regards

Ian

P.S Does anyone out there know how to reduce a jpeg in size and down to 800 * 800 - I have a couple of great pics that I'd just love to post.

That's a very nice story. These cars are so rare that it is, to my opinion, very interesting to trace their stories through time.
For the story, I bought an old 1939 Dragon Class boat in Sweden when I was living there. With the help of my secretary, I finally ended to the Royal Swedish Marine Archives, and found a copy of the keel casting certificate dated Nov. 1938, and the original of the certification to the class certificate in 1946 (obviously, people have been busy between 39 and 46...).
These cars were a revolution in term on design, concept and outrage to the car industry when they came out. They are now, in some country, officially registered as a piece of art. This is worth spending some time in the archives, I think

Default Trying To Get Mine Looking As Good!!!

Hello,

We are about to restore the bodywork on my 1980 LP400S Countach and would like to paint in the original factory shade of red. We think the colour is Rosso Siviglia but unfortunately there are no paint codes on the car to be sure. Any advise would be welcome.

Regards
Ian W

What exactly do you need?
the paint code of Rosso siviglia is PPG 2.464.022 but from the early countach I have also a Bertone number: 5205190, also rosso siviglia
