An LCUK Member has just put his 88.5 model year QV Countach up for sale.
It is VERY well known within the club and is white on white. He is Asking £52,000 GBP. and it is Right hand Drive (fantastic value - considering it is only 1 of 14 rhd 88.5 model years left in the world!). The car is located South East England. Have a look at www.88qv.com for loads of pics - and to contact the owner. If you prefer, you can send me your details and I will forward them on to him. The car is also advertised on http://www.lamborghiniclubuk.com/ I have been out in the car a number of times - and it drives and handles without fault. It also has a "seminal" sounding sports exhaust!! Hope this saves someone months of searching!! Regards Ian |

This may be of interest to all you Countach owners out there.
I work within the Lamborghini industry, and over the last 18 months there has been much talk about Countach prices set to rise. As you have all probably seen already, they have slowly risen over the last 3 years. But the best is yet to come! As we get ever closer to the 40th Anniversary of Countach, prices are predicted to soar!! I have this week visited one private owner who now has 3 Countach's in his collection, and is looking to extend his collection even further! LP400 prices have already shot up, and if you have a fine example of this model Countach, you can already command a top premium! For those requiring more power - of course the QV is the way to go. A mint condition euro spec version sold this week for 95,000 Euro's to an anonymous purchaser, rumour has it that it went to an F1 driver. Seems like history is repeating it's self!! Thanks for reading Lamboman |

I agree that we are just on the leading edge of a sharp spike in Countach prices.
I was talking to Glen Kohut from the Lamborghini club of Canada at a function a couple of weeks ago. He mentioned that an early car had changed hands at over $210 U.S. a couple of weeks ago. There was a time when you couldn't give away a muscle car. Now, a Hemi Cuda convertible can go for up to $2 m U.S. . Todays Lamborghini's are beautiful and faster than the Countach. However, I believe the CT has currently has three distinct advantages over the more modern cars: The first is relative rarity. The production numbers are very low, with production over the life of the car at under 2,000 units. (The 80's era poster of the Countach didn't hurt either). Secondly, the car at it's current price levels represents a great bargain both in relation to other Lamborghini's as well as upper end products from other manufacturers. The third and most important thing is relative simplicity. The early cars were carburated, and many of us grew up with carbs and are not afraid of them. Even the later fuel injected models are relatively simple, using parts from existing automotive suppliers. Todays cars use proprietary technology that almost ensures that you have to go to the dealer to replace or repair. ($12,000 for a set of Diablo E.C.U.'s ) And don't even get me started on Ferrari timing belts. If you own a later model Lambo please don't be offended because I think they are great cars. I think they will hold their value well, and over time may appreciate as well. But I do think that the next few years will be the Countach's time to shine. |
