Default Countach Parts Or Advise Wanted

Hello

We are rebuilding a 1980 Lambourghini Countach LP400 S1 that lost its valve timing. We would like any help or advise for purchasing the following items :- 6 pistons, 6 intake valves, 6 exhaust valves, 6 liners, timing chains, full engine gasket set, clutch plate, complete exhaust system and original gear knob.

We would like to buy any of the above new or good used items would be fine.

The previous owner claimed our car was originally owned by Nicki Lauda, can anyone offer any information regarding this claim.

Thanks Ian

1st ask Chad here in the forum
2nd ask a dealer

Lauda's car? I can't imagine, I never heard he had a Countach, Gerhard Berger had a QV and Lauda mad bad jokes about his car.

Default Countach Pistons

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. Which of the parts do you think you have? Are they new or used? We are keen to proceed with our rebuild, so are trying to source parts as soon as we can.

Regards
Ian

Default Nicki Lauda

I have read that during an interview given by Ferrucio Lamborghini in 1990 that he had been visited by Nicki Lauda while he was still signed to Ferrari Lamborghini provided a Countach for him. Does anyone know more details of this car - i.e. chassis number, colour etc

From the excellent Lamborghiniregistry web site:

http://www.lamborghiniregistry.com/C...00S/index.html

"In a 1990 European magazine interview Ferruccio Lamborghini said "Niki Lauda came to visit me and wanted to try out my cars. I said, 'Take the Countach and drive it to Milan. When you come back, tell me your impression'. Enzo Ferrari did not like that at all as Lauda still worked for him at the time. He (Enzo) was always pretty jealous... Naturally Lauda was very impressed with the Countach"

Sounds like Niki drove Ferrucio's car, nothing more.
