Question Countach & Jarama engine changes ?

Does anyone know of any problems swoping Heads,Valves,Pistons,Rods etc between a poorly 1980 LP400S Countach V12 and a 1970s Jarama V12 dismantled doner engine.
I am expecting the block to be a different casting but hoping everything else is interchangable.Any other advise on changing Liners would also be appreciated.
Thanks for you help.
Ian.

Yes, it's almost the same, I suppose the camshafts are different but crank, piston etc should be the same.
If you give me some time I can check in the spare parts manual and list the differences.

Default Jarama/Countach engine parts swap

Ian, it would depend if the Jarama engine is a Jarama "S" engine or not. The normal Jarama engine had a different compressio ratio. The "S" engine was the 365 HP engine vs the early Jarama engine being 350 HP.
The valves, rods and crank will work. The heads will not, as the Countach casting was different. I am sure you most likely could probably make them work though.
The liners would be the same also.

Default V12 Variations?

Thanks for the reply Chad. I thought that early V12 power output variations were due to camshaft timing/profiles and carburation, all the data I have shows the same compression ratios.
Regards
Ian.

The Jarama "S" has bigger intake ports in the head and the intake manifolds are also different. The pistons in the Jarama and the Jarama "S" are also different part numbers.

Default Countach Engine Major Rebuild Update

After a 350 mile round trip with my dismantled Countach engine we studied the Jarama engine which was found to have a different crankcase casting and different heads designed to drive only one distributor, smaller intake ports plus different cams. So I am going to purchase new parts and rebuild my original engine.

Thanks to everyone for their help.

Regards
Ian

Default Jarama/Countach engine parts swap

Ian, if you need parts let me know, I will be glad to help.
LIke I said I have plenty of the valves, sleeves, pistons.
Most of the stuff is no longer available from Lambo.
I can get oversize pistons made, new valves made. Sleeves can be reused if you are going to bore the engine.

Another question, when I called you at the 45914 number, is that a cell number? My phone company is charging me for a cell call to you. I know I did not use my cell phone to call.
Thanks
