Sorry, this is my first post - im about to by a Gallardo Nera and have been lurking for a little while -
but i pulled a maintenance schedule / plan off someone in FL's site and it had similar pricing, for what seemed like regular maintenance. Since when does changing oil and an air filter cost 2-3grand? I mean thats just silly. I would have hoped that was something else Audi could have fixed, cause while clearly these cars arent going to be cheap to maintain...thats just dumb...its still just an engine and I know and work with Porsche race mechanics frequently and that would equate to about 20+ hours in labor...unless you have to pull the engine for an oil change (which if that is the case i may have to reconsider my purchase), i just cant see where they are charging that kind of dough.
Are we expected to be a pushover for our cash just cause we have some and decided to blow a little on an expensive toy?
I can see a clutch service being 5-6k, thats not outlandish...or in the Ferrari a 5-8k service for pulling the engine and doing a valve adjustment or something, but 3k for an oil change (when would have to assume nothing better or more valuable than RedLine or Mobil1 are going in the engine, and even at a whole gob of quarts, and even if there are 2 oil filters), like what justifies that service fee...outside of the place that your taking it to having Lamborghini written across the top of the building.
Is that part of the 'price of exclusivity'? aka do they drastically inflate the maintenance prices to keep too many people from buying them? (seems like a silly business strategy, but eh, what do i know about selling cars)
Thanks or any insight...sorry for the newb post.
