you dont need shims to do it. once you drop the height plates the only thing you will need to do is have the allignment checked. we didn't use any shims and the car rides and handles great. we only lowered the car about one inch all around. you have to measure the car at static ride height and lower all the corners one inch. not all the side will be the same height. very important to measure first. it will make life alot easier. let me know if you have any more questions and any way i can help!!
