It's mostly electronic. I don't see too many complaints posted from those who have e-gear regarding cost to maintain. They seem to be extremely reliable from what I know. I've yet to learn of anyone who's moved away from e-gear and ordered a car with a manual AFTER owning an e-gear car. Before I bought my car, I did lots of homework and concluded there was no better choice for me to the point where I wouldn't consider a manual. Most who criticize it and prefer manual have never driven a Lamborghini with e-gear, especially in a very fast, constant shifting twisty-road environment so they are simply voicing what they know.
