I have an LP640 Roadster with e-gear. It seems like most of the cars sold are now e-gear for a variety of reasons. For one, in situations where you are driving on twisty roads, you are able to keep both hands on the wheel while making fast shift changes. I don't know about clutch life differences, but on one of the most recent rallies where we were driving though a lot of sharp turns, constant shifts, changes in incline and decline, I could smell the clutch from a manual shift car right in front of me. I know my shift changer were a lot faster and that's an e-gear strong point. It could have been the driver, but I'm not sure I'd have been any better. At this point, I'd not consider anything but e-gear.
As for joining the site, welcome!
Tom
