It is possible that they were put aside during cleaning and not put back on or possibly put in on top of the base plate but still under the carbs. Just my thoughts.

Thanks Mike I'll check that tomorrow. I'm heading down to Evan's tomorrow with some R12 that I've had laying around since the early 90's. Once he charges the AC all that's left is some weather stripping and a signal light! Once the roads clean-up
again they'll be able to put a few miles on it and then my baby comes home! WOOOO HOOOO! Seven months!
Once I write that check (and I start breathing again) I'll have the itemized list so I can start answering all the PM's I've been getting. One thing I can tell everyone that I will do different next time is I'll have the engine torn down and inspected then get an estimate so I can have a better idea of what I'm getting myself into.
