It's not the clutch. It's the all wheel drive system as Roy indicated. I believe it has to do with the proportional rotation of the front to rear wheels which is affected by the possible different overall circumference of aftermarket wheels. However, you're right. If you maintain the same (or very close) proportional circumference front to back it should have no affect on the system. Whether the wheels are turning faster or slower is secondary to whether they are turning in the correct (close to or at the factory) proportion to one another. Sorry for making it sound more complex than it is.
