I decided it was time to get a new exhaust put on to my Jalpa, I found a custom exhaust place I though would do a good job. Told the peole I was after a stainless steel exhaust to replace my current mild steel exhaust that is looking rusty and is leaking. I advised that I wanted to stay as close to original as possible and to use the mandrel bends. As I live in Australia it was going to be too hard and expensive to get the Stebro system sent across (Which doesn't some with the pipe to go to the front set of extractors. mine needed replacing). They seemed to be on the right track when I took the picture of the parts, though I wasn't happy with the balancing between the left and right systems, they said that there was a hole between the welding highlighted buy the red circle. The "fitter" had also said that the "laser cut" stainless steel flange plates were not up to sratch as you can see by the red oblong circle the drilled holes were not central, and that he had asked the manufacturer to have them remade. This made me feel much better about the work he was doing.
When he told me the car was ready I came down for a look and the second photo is what I saw

I said that this was NOT acceptable, you can see that the mufflers are mounted on an angle, marked by the yellow circle. You can also see the pipe above the muffler, not sure what they were thinking when they did that, certainly nothing like the original system. If you look closely you can just see the tow hook I think. This exhaust would scrap on anything in reverse. They took it back and started again. I lost some of the mandrel bends that they had initially put in to make things more compact. Not sure why they chose 2 1/4 inch pipe that they did I'm sure the original wasn't that thick.
Finally I got the car back with the exhaust much more in the location I wanted it

You can see the height difference marked by the green arrow in picture 3. I need to get the car to pass a police inspection so unfortunately I have had to go with some quite mufflers

You can also see that they have a better collection setup this time around
