Sounds like a line of crap to me. If it is a Bosch starter, there is, as far as I know, nothing that is not available for it.
Unless you have worn it out, usually the only thing wrong is the solenoid needs to be replaced.
You get me a number off of the solenoid and I will contact a buddy at Bosch and get you one.
