Hi Fahad,

I bought the car in October 2005 and I drove for at least 4 hours before my mechanic freaked out and asked me to stop ! The car has been in the garage since January 2006. Being away from Europe most of the time, there is nothing much I can do to keep the pressure on the subcontractors guys, but Marcel the Mechanic does his best. I trust him 100%, and, again, even if it takes time, I'd rather know the car in his hands for a perfect restoration than sitting in a parking lot after having a quick fix by some jerck like the ones who took care of the car before I bought it.

We found a lot a things very wrong on this car, and even if Raymond do not agree, I'm sure something bad has been hidden from me by the previous owner. The instruments show 49k+ kms, but as "bad luck", the odo had failed "just the week before I went to buy her"..so the owner said. I believe it must be around 60k Kms, but after completely rebuilding the engine and the gearbox, that doesn't matter anymore really.

I just sent a message to the garage asking them to check more things such as the hydraulic circuits, the wheels bearings and stuff, and the steering system, rack and pinions...just in case. If the car is back to a perfect mechanical condition, I just want to make sure it is safe and well balanced. I don't want to "eat" a set of tyre every 5k Kms, or find out at the first emergency "limit" braking that the calipers fall apart or the steering comes loose...if you see what I mean.

Anyway, it sure will be in a perfect mechanical condition once it is out of Marcel's garage, and a couple of months in the leather shop to renew the upholstery will make it very....desirable but unfortunately, still not for sale ...not until I reach the 50k kms behind the wheels anyway
