Congrats on your new car. Thats a great color combo. Was it a local purchase?
With respect to driving in your socks, I did the same thing initially. Size 11's are to big for Italian pedal design. Then I went shopping at some of the sporting goods stores. They carry a runner call the lifestyle runner. It looks kind of goofy but the width of the tread is narrow at the widest part of your foot and the heal is low . They almost look like racing shoes but without the hightop. They work great and look better than climbing out of your car and then putting your shoes on.
With respect to your clutch problem:
Could be one of a few problems; Clutch itself, clutch hose at the slave cylinder (hole), clutch slave cylinder itself, or possibly a broken actuating rod running from the linkage to the slave cylinder itself. I only suggest the last one because it happened to me with my CT a couple of weeks ago.
If the clutch has been done recently, and if it has been installed correctly and if it hasn't been thrashed since, I would start looking at hydraulics.
If you can, look under the car, see if there is any fluid dripping or puddling.
Check on the right hand side between the door and the rear wheelwell.
If you see fluid. There is a reasonable chance the problem is one of the last
problems I mentioned.
Good luck I hope it's nothing to serious.
