The simple fact is: George doesn't want the car off his premises and you can't understand this. The guy offered you his shop and tools to have someone go there to do the PPI. This isn't unusual.

If I were to sell my car tomorrow, I wouldn't let it out of my sight for one second. Even to get washed at another shop would be out of the question. Let's get real. This is a $33,900 car. If you took it for a quickie and got into a small accident George would be sued for five times that amount...by you I might add.

Shut up and send the guy there to do the PPI if you really want the car.

George is a stand-up guy. Nothing you said in this thread has changed that fact. How's this. If George certified this car, I will back-up any guarantee he gives you. That's how honest I think George is.

you need to please read what HE POSTED in his email to me. he did not say i could bring anyone else TO LOOK THE CAR OVER AT HIS SHOP. he said " you " meaning me. alone and fresh off the airplane having been up since 3am to get there in Ohio at a decent time. NOWHERE does he say i can bring in anyone else. PERIOD. and the car is $33,900 . its missing stuff, NO BOOKS, NO TOOLS, INCOMPLETE JACK KIT. NO SPARE, NO SPARE STRAPS. NO SERVICE RECORDS. and i hope the title has the actual KM / miles reflected.

i bet you it says "exempt".

again, i have made no attempt to attack George. so dont go there. all i have done is ask would YOU, IN MY SHOES PAY $33,900 FOR A JALPA LIKE THIS WITH NO PPI AND NO TEST DRIVE!!!! ????

i bet you would not.

i am still in the market and will wait until winter, when the deals creep out from the cold. Ebay or not . this black 83 Jalpa *12038* is non viable to me.

and i just spoke with someoone on the phone who knows for a fact he has had the car almost 7 years . so any tires, belts hoses or service work done by the previous owner are likely dryrotted. i am positive the tires would be flat spotted and have to be replaced, and i am concerned the wheel bearings would be shot from sitting.

so, tires, belts , hoses, thermostat, radiator flush, brake flush, cam cover gaskets, carb rebuild kit, valve adjustment + shim kit, brakes? shocks? electrical?. with no test drive you have to assume all of these must be replaced. AFTER you paid $33,900 for the car, 6% sales tax ( required in Georgia when buying from a dealer) + tags, shipping and insurance.

so tell me guys, who wants to buy the car?
