My dad has a friend who wants to sell my his 1986 Jalpa, I have been doing some research and I have been looking to find out what this car is worth. My dad's friend said that he wants me to have this car. So my question to you is...What do you think that this car is worth, based upon the following second hand information and pictures...

1.) I believe that he is the 2nd or 3rd owner and he has owned the car since 1993. I know this because he trailered the car to our house after he bought it to show me...I was 14 at the time.

2.) The car has 22,000 km on the car and it was built in 02-1986. I don't have a serial number.

3.) The car really has not run since he bought it. After he bought it he had it tuned up (1994) and it cost him about $1,900 for the work. He added the spoiler and just recently added a new paint job for about $6,000. The seats were the original color of the interior (Tan) not the black which is shown in the pictures He had the seats dyed.

4.) About a year ago he got the car running and his son ran it out of gas and now it won't start.

So basically, I am looking to buy a Jalpa which is in fair / good condition - I think, and it does not currently run. My thinking is that the car is worth about $13,000 - $15,000. Can I get some opinions on this?
