Default exhaust resonance ?

I test drove a 6.0 on Saturday and was wondering if this is an aftermarket exhaust effect. To preface I am 53 yo and have had sensitive hearing all my life. Well after a lifetime around machinery I have some significant hearing loss and need to protect what's left. The car I drove was not overly loud outside and in fact sounded very nice. Inside the cabin though talking was, well lets say kind of a chore. It was a little louder inside than I would have liked but at times during the drive I would get a tinnitus response from my ears that I know from experiece not to ignore. Not from engine or driveline noise but from harmonics at a certain rpm range. Most noticeable between 2000 and 3000 rpm. The car I believe had an MS Racing exhaust. Do cars with stock exhausts sound this loud in the cabin? Is this resonance because of the aftermarket exhaust? It's probably just my sensitive ears but I thought I'd ask the other owners here. TIA--Dave--
