All the 4V (QV) Ferraris (308, TR, 348, etc) used the same size and type of seals. Look at the outer Top Edge of the Ex. Guides to tell if they are supposed to be fitted with seals.

I see the nail you were talking about in the pic, maybe the guy who put the silicone everywhere was a Carpenter not a Mechanic.
