Imagine if they had gotten Prodrive instead !
Also it seems as though ALMS may be a tougher series to prep the car
for. Look at the MC12 last weekend at Sebring. The car didn't do that
well in spite of all the fuss aout it being outside the ACO rules. We'll
have to see if they relax their stranglehold on it.
It can be determined ahead of time if you will be competitive or not.
Being 7-8 seconds off the pace is not close !
Look at the excellent Aston Martin DB9R performance at last weekends
Sebring. Prodrive prepped that car. It was the car's first outing
along with the C6R. The Astons were slightly slower than the Vettes
but were able to stay on essentially the same lap as the lead vettes to
take advantage of when the vettes had problems, which they did, and
Aston Martin won their class !
The work they did to prep the DB9Rs was amazing ! Alan de Cadenet
indicated that Prodrive had built a custom V-12 for the DB9R and had
changed the chassis mount point for it.
If that's true, that's proper prep !!
